OUR STORY

When Joe Williams and Dan Munier founded Package Unit Pros in 2013, they had one goal in mind: provide an alternative to what typical commercial HVAC contractors offer. “We recognized that facilities with light commercial HVAC equipment were being serviced by either residential companies that may lack the expertise, or commercial contractors that focused on larger buildings and equipment and were overpriced,” shared Dan Munier, Vice President and Co-Owner. “Package Unit Pros focuses exclusively on light commercial buildings such as office, retail and industrial. Focusing on just light commercial HVAC is distinctly different than most commercial HVAC contractors that service both light commercial and heavy tonnage equipment. While we don’t compete with them for large high-rise buildings, we are more suited for light commercial buildings in both experience and price.”

Package Unit Pros services clients around the Bay Area, Sacramento, and Santa Rosa, specializes in package unit facilities, including split systems, evaporative coolers, exhaust fans, furnaces, single zone and multi-zone systems. Since inception, the company has grown year after year. They began with just two technicians and no office staff. By the end of the first year, they had outgrown their first facility, and had expanded their team to include six technicians and three office staff. Today, there are nearly 40 full time employees at the company and every person in management has been promoted from within.

Package Unit Pros is also dedicated to giving back to the local community. They donate to a number of charities throughout the year, including St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Tunnels to Towers and to breast cancer research, to name a few. They also launch an annual toy drive at Christmas that is managed entirely by the staff. “We are very proud of the work and success of this annual toy drive,” shared Munier.

As the HVAC industry continues to evolve, Package Unit Pros is poised to keep up with demand and will continue to serve customers with the best prices and the highest quality customer service. Munier shared, “The HVAC industry is going through multiple changes with new refrigerants, new energy efficiency requirements and here in California, the push for electrification. We look forward to being able to help our customers navigate through these changes so they can continue to make good decisions regarding their HVAC needs.”

What We Do

Because we only service the light commercial HVAC market we eliminate large overheads associated with the service of residential and heavy tonnage HVAC systems. Lower insurance premiums, smaller vans, less fuel, lower DMV fees, fewer special tools, it all adds up. Passing these savings on to you results in a labor rate about 30% less than you are likely paying now.

Light Commercial HVAC

When a company tries to manage too many types of service the variables can be overwhelming and very difficult to implement best practices and reduce mistakes. Because we focus exclusively on light commercial systems we can put practices and processes in place, doing the same things the same way every single day. You can expect a higher level of service from Package Unit Pros.
